ServSafe®

Food Safety is another area of programming that Family and Consumer Science Agents specialize in. In effort to promote food safety in the food service industry, the Stewart County Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Agent has obtained ServSafe® food protection manager certification and certified instructor status. Extension has been offering ServSafe® manager and employee certification programs throughout the state since 1997.

The Georgia Restaurant Association represents an industry comprising over 19,000 food service and drinking places in the state of Georgia with total sales in excess of $11 billion and provide more jobs (350,000+) than any other non-government employer in the state.
