This event is presented by Lincoln, Burke, and Jefferson counties. Our hosts are Brier Creek Pecan Farm, Peca Farm, and Keysville Pecan Farm. Topics include pre-emergent herbicides and economics, young tree management, fungicides in young trees, pruning, and an update on Bearing Orchards after the hurricane.

Oct 12 2026 Oconee County Bat Festival Join us at the 3rd annual Oconee County Bat Festival! It’s a free, family-friendly event all about our native, nocturnal, insect-eating friends: the bats. The festival will have educational talks, local vendors, games, activities, arts & crafts, and food. We’ll also have a plant sale for you to build a bat garden in your own yard. Celebrate the season by trick-or-treating around our booths and participating in our costume contest! We’ll even have Georgia DNR live bat ambassador Commissioner Gordon making a guest appearance! Finally, we'll be finishing out the night by going on a bat walk to listen in on wild bats who call the park home. The festival will be on Monday, 10/12, at Heritage Park in Watkinsville and will run from 4-8 p.m., with booths and vendors closing at 7:30 p.m. to lead into our bat walk. Oct 27 One Day ServSafe Manager Certification Course and Exam Join us for the nationally recognized ServSafe Manager Certification Course and exam at the Tattnall County Extension Office in Reidsville, Ga. The content for this course will be delivered in one day with the exam directly following completion of course material. Course topics include food safety at all stages, facilities and pest management, cleaning, sanitizing, and more! Time: 8:30AM-6:00PM (lunch on your own) Registration: $150 (Includes 8 hours of instruction, course book, study materials, and certification exam) Books and materials must be picked up no later than 2 weeks prior to class date!
