UGA Extension has provided online educational programming, consultations and essential lab services during the COVID-19 pandemic while observing safe health practices for employees and the public. We offer resources for adults and 4-H youth on health, food, finances, parenting, agriculture and more. The Jefferson County Extension Office lobby is currently closed to the public. However, we are continuing to work and can be reached at the office number: 478-625-3046. We have a drop box placed outside the door for soil, water and other sample processing. There are many 4-H activities to pick up for students along with free seed and hands-on activities. Please call with any questions. Our office hours are: Monday- Friday from 8:00am- 5:00pm (12:00pm-1:00pm lunch).

  • Aug 9 ServSafe Manager Certification Training and Exam Georgia Cooperative Extension provides the nationally recognized and accredited ServSafe® training for foodservice managers from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF). Upon successful completion of the ServSafe® examination, the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager certificate will be issued by the NRAEF. Workshops are offered in multiple locations throughout the state; see each training's contact for details.

  • Aug 10 Sheep and Goat Meat Processing The Oglethorpe County Extension office hosts quarterly educational meetings for small ruminant producers. The topic for this meeting will be sheep and goat meat processing. All small ruminant owners are invited to attend regardless of location or experience level. These meetings also serve as a networking opportunity for Northeast Georgia producers.
