Lumpkin County 4-H and the Georgia Mountains Master Gardeners Plant Sale for 2023
Lumpkin County 4-H will hold its annual Rabies Clinic April 29, 2023 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Lumpkin County Middle School. Pets must be leashed or in a crate/carrier, Stay in your Vehicle keep your pets in the vehicle! Be patient! Our Rabies Clinic looks much different this year, so bear with our volunteers as we try to keep you and your pets as safe as possible. Registration closes on April 23rd, 2023, be sure to register your pets before this date.

This fundraiser provides more than 650 Lumpkin students with unique, educational, and hands-on experiences; but, it also serves as very needed service to our community. Vaccinations are offered at highly reduced rates for pet owners, thanks to the generous donations, amazing volunteers, doctors, and staff at VCA Chestatee Animal Hospital. Monies raised from the clinic are used to help send our 4-H members to District Project Achievement, STEM events, and summer camps each year, along with several other district competitions. Mark your calendars to come out and support 4-H and get your furry family member up to date on their shots! Annual Plant Sale
We are excited to announce the Lumpkin County 4-H and the Georgia Mountains Master Gardeners Plant Sale for 2023. This year we are starting the plant sale on February 27, 2023 to March 31, 2023. Please place your orders online and find this years plant information located online as well at https://gammg.org/2023-plant-sale. All plant orders will be placed online again this year only. If you are unable to place an online order, please contact us at the Extension Office, we can help place your order.
The plant pick-up date is on Saturday, April 15th, 9:00 - 12:00 p.m. at the Lumpkin County Road Department – 1646 Red Oak Flats Rd., Dahlonega, GA. Master Gardeners will be in attendance at the pickup site to help with any questions you may have about soil preparation and basic care for the plants you have ordered.
Proceeds from last year’s sales were used by the 4-H to enhance their programs for our members and to pay for scholarships to attend summer camps and enrichment activities. The Master Gardeners continue to establish and maintain gardening projects throughout the Lumpkin County area, help fund a High School Scholarship and they continue to host notable gardening presentations throughout the year.
