The Dooly County Cooperative Extension Office extends lifelong learning to Georgia citizens through unbiased, research-based education. We are dedicated to helping people in our community find answers to questions related to the following areas:
Have questions or want to know more?
Pollinator Prep Checking off pollinator to-do list for the fall and early winter will help pollinators next spring.
Fighting Food Waste Consumers in developed countries waste almost as much food per year — 222 million tons — as the entire net food production of sub-Saharan Africa (230 million tons).
Pumpkin Breeding A tricky crop to grow, the 'Orange Bulldog' pumpkin variety developed by UGA plant breeders fares well in Georgia climates.
Oct 26 Growing Citrus In The Lake Country We receive lots of questions about growing citrus in the Lake Country area. Can it be done? Yes it can, if you select the correct varieties. Join us Tuesday October 26, 2021 at the Putnam County Extension Office, 663 Godfrey Road, Eatonton, Georgia. We will have one session at 1:30 PM, and another session at 6:30 PM in a effort to keep group size small, and make the program more available to our clients. You will learn about variety selection, soil prep, planting times, and follow up care. We will follow social distancing recommendations during the meetings.
