Livestock Programs

Decatur County 4-H offers the following programs: Lambs, swine, cattle exhibit and livestock judging teams. If you would like to participate in the opportunity to exhibit market lambs, swine or cattle please contact Decatur County 4H office, (229) 248-3033 or Linsbell@uga.edu.

Livestock Judging Team

If you have an interest in learning how to evaluate hogs, cattle, sheep and goats, then the Livestock Judging Program is something you may want to take a look at.

This program helps you develop skills needed in selecting good, quality livestock. You learn how to identify different breeds with in a given specie, how to interpret performance data, evaluation criteria and how to back up your decisions with sound reasoning.
