Jun 29 Open Garden Day: Rose Lawn Museum Join UGA Extension Master Gardeners in Bartow County for Open Garden Days at Rose Lawn Museum demonstration garden. Visit our gardens to learn about native plants and pollinators, soils and seeds, herbs, becoming a Master Gardener Extension Volunteer, and take a tour of rose gardens and learn about rose pruning. The Georgia Native Plant Society will be onsite to share about native plant propagation. Robert and Patsy Barr will offer demonstrations on bog gardens and carnivorous plants. The Magnolia Garden Club, a member of the Garden Clubs of Georgia, will share about native and invasive plants. Events are free and open to the public. Jul 1 Organic Growers Farmer Field Day Newton County Extension and Georgia Organics are co-hosting an Organic Growers Farmer Field Day (OGFFD) on Monday, July 1, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Oxford College Farm in Oxford, GA. The field day will include a farm tour led by Daniel Parson, followed by three educational sessions led by researchers and experts from UGA Entomology and UGA Extension geared towards transitioning and Certified Organic farmers.
