To extend lifelong learning from the University of Georgia to the everyday lives of Georgia citizens through current, research-based education in agriculture, the environment, communities, youth and families.

What is UGA Extension?

UGA Extension operates through a unique partnership with Burke County, the University of Georgia, the U. S. Department of Agriculture and the State of Georgia.  UGA Cooperative Extension was founded in 1914 to bring research-based information to the people of Georgia backed by specialists and a network of resources.  Today, UGA Extension serves more than 2.6 million Georgians annually.  From publications to in-person workshops and events, Extension is ready to meet the needs of the state and its communities. UGA Extension is on the forefront of food safety, technology, research, and education; keeping Georgia’s economy strong and making life better for Georgians.  Learn more about Extension

  • Sep 17 Home Composting You asked, we listened. Join us for a two-part home composting program this fall! We will start with composting basics on September 17th and cover vermicomposting (composting with worms) on September 24th. Both sessions will be held at the Lincoln County Agriculture Center at 2080 Rowland York Rd, Lincolnton, GA 30817 from 6-7PM. Registration for both sessions is $10 per person and can be pre-paid by visiting our office or paid the day of the program.
