Setting Your Sights on Medical School

Georgia 4-H and Mercer University School of Medicine (MUSM) will offer the collaborative event, Setting Your Sights on Medical School.  The Setting Your Sights on Medical School Event allows 9th-12th grade 4-H members an opportunity to explore medical school, tour the campus and ask questions of students and faculty.  During the event,  4-H members will get to meet medical school students and faculty, learn about rural health, application procedures and scholarship opportunities, as well as tour the school and labs. This event will provide a hands-on learning opportunity for youth interested in a future career in medicine.  Learn more in this article featured on UGA Today:

Music Education Matters Summit

The Music Education Matters Summit provides an experience for youth across Georgia, and around the nation, to practice and grow in music education, network and learn from industry professionals, and develop as a leader, team member, and performer.  The Summit offers youth the opportunity to select one of five tracks: Vocal, Instrumental, Songwriting, Dance; and Musical Theatre.

Southern Region Teen Leadership Conference

The Southern Region Teen Leadership Conference is the first-of-its-kind, multi-state 4-H conference created to bring together 4-H teens and adults to empower and inspire them to make a positive change across the southeast through leadership development and youthadult partnerships.  Transportation via charter bus provided from the south Metro Atlanta area.

Weekend in the Classic City

Weekend in the Classic City, hosted by Georgia Collegiate 4-H Club, provides high school youth (9th-12th grade) the opportunity to learn more about higher education and life as a college student. The event, held on the University of Georgia’s campus, offers youth to explore:

• College search process
• Applications
• Preparation for college life
• Financial aid and scholarships
• Student life and campus organizations

Experience workshops, a campus tour, eat at a university dining hall, explore dormitory living, and experience firsthand the University of Georgia.

Registration includes Friday lodging, Saturday breakfast and dinner (lunch on your own in downtown Athens) and lodging, Sunday breakfast and an event t-shirt.  Transportation to the event from the Atlanta area is NOT provided.
