Summer Camp and Summer Programs

4-H Summer Camp

Georgia 4-H offers five day, four night summer camps for 4-H’ers of all ages. These camps take place at one of the 4-H Centers in Georgia and offer many fun and exciting activities. Starting in 7th grade, 4-H’ers must be deemed active in order to attend camp. From zip lines and canoeing, to trips to Stone Mountain and the beach, each camp has a different experience for a full week of adventures and new opportunities.

Georgia's 4-H summer camping program, administered through the county offices of UGA Cooperative Extension, offers a 4-H summer camping experience unparalleled in the nation. Every camp offers great adventure, friendship and fun. If you love an out-door adventure with lots of swimming, archery, hiking, and hands-on-learning about nature then 4-H Camp is for you.

Camp Sign Up Event

Please note: Summer Camp sign up has ended for the 2020 year. Please check back next December for more information on camp sign up for 2021.

Camp sign up will begin on Wednesday January 29, 2020 at the Forsyth County Extension/4-H Office (5110 Piney Grove Road, Cumming, Ga 30040) from 8:00am - 8:00pm. Please bring your camp deposit and completed application to this event to sign up. Please note we only accept CASH or CHECK. After this event, if spaces are available you can sign up in person at the Extension Office, or by mailing your application and a check for your deposit to our mailing address Forsyth County Extension/4-H 5110 Piney Grove Rd, Cumming, GA 30040. Make checks payable to Forsyth County Extension/4-H.  

Cloverleaf 4-H'ers (4th-6th Graders)

Cloverleaf Camp June 8th-12th 2020

Georgia 4-H Cloverleaf Camps are about adventures, friendship, and FUN! The experience of a lifetime awaits you at Burton 4-H Center.  The week-long experience at Burton includes visits to the beach and local historical sites, dances, a dolphin sighting cruise, and many other fun and exciting activities. Burton 4-H Center is surrounded by tidal marshes and during the week you will be grouped in color crews and compete for the treasure chest. Each 4-H’er will be busy through the week learning about marsh life, seining, beach ecology, crabbing, and herpetology class.

How to Qualify for Junior Camp during summer

Junior 4-H'ers (7th-8th Graders)

Wilderness Challenge Camp July 6th-10th 2020

Georgia 4-H’s Wilderness Challenge Camp at Wahsega 4-H Center offers a fun filled outdoor summer program for 7th and 8th graders. This camp offers great adventures,  friendship, and fun. Tentative activities during the week include a canopy zip line tour, whitewater rafting, river  swimming, an overnight camp out, wilderness classes, and night recreation!  

Junior Camp June 1st-5th 2020

Junior 4-H Camp at Fortson 4-H Center offers a fun-filled summer program for active 4-H’ers in the 7th and 8th grade. Campers will participate in a wide variety of activities while at camp!

Activities will include a trip to the Georgia Aquarium, an action packed afternoon at Stone Mountain ending with a relaxing laser show, and an evening at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. You will also have the chance to learn about the animals that live on the Fortson Farm and take other fun classes on center!

Marine Resources Camp July 13th-17th 2020

Marine Resources Camp at Burton 4-H Center on Tybee Island offers a fun-filled summer program for 7th-8th graders. There will be a marsh trawl, shark dissection, beach ecology walks, sea turtle program, fishing, Marine careers night, other fun classes, and a beach trip. Transportation to and from Camp Burton on Tybee Island is not included in the camp fee. There will be a transportation option of $85 to camp; more information about the camp bus transportation option will be released later.

Senior 4-H'ers (9th-12th Graders)

Senior Camp May 25th-29th 2020

Calling all active 9th–12th grade 4-H’ers! Georgia 4-H is preparing for another great week of Senior Camp this summer at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. While at camp, students will participate in a wide variety of activities and classes such as: Street dances, pool parties, Tribal wars, leadership and team building classes, a trip to a trampoline park, kayaking, service projects, and a trip to UGA! Transportation to and from Rock Eagle 4-H Center is not included in the camp fee . However, transportation will be provided to all activities during the week of Senior Camp and is included in the camp cost. Registration opens January 29th.

Senior Extreme Camp June 8th-12th 2020

Georgia 4-H’s Senior Extreme Camp offers a fun-filled summer program for 9th through 12th graders. Campers will participate in a wide variety of activities. There will be a canoeing and fishing trip on the Ocmulgee River, shooting activities at Charlie Elliot Outdoor Center and ropes course at Georgia College and State University. Transportation to and from Rock Eagle 4-H Center is not included in the camp fee. However, transportation will be provided to all activities during the week of Senior Camp and is included in the camp cost. Registration opens January 29th.
