Laurel Wilt


Laurel wilt has been confirmed in several locations in Cobb County. It is a disease of woody plants in the Laurel (Lauraceae) family. In our neck of the woods, it will primarily affect sassafras trees and common spicebush. This disease is introduced into host by the nonnative redbay ambrosia beetle (Xyleborus glabratus).
