Beginner Beekeeping Series for 2022

Are you interested in starting a hive or two of honey bees? The Lanier County Extension Office is currently planning a series of beginner beekeeping courses in 2022, not restricted to Lanier County residents. The series includes a hive assembly class, bee biology, how to install a package of bees, common pests and diseases, smoker lighting practice, honey harvest, and more. Meetings will be held one Saturday per month. 

Classes will be held from 9am-12pm on January 29th, February 19th, March 19th, April 23rd,  June 11th,  and July 30th.

The cost is $20 for the entire series of six classes. Payment must be received via mail or in-person with cash or check by January 5th if you are ordering bees or equipment. If you are only taking the classes, payment must be received the day before the class.
