What is Georgia Master Naturalist?

The Georgia Master Naturalist program is an Adult Environmental Education course developed by the UGA Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources and UGA Cooperative Extension for people who wish to be more informed about habitats, natural resources and the natural environments of our state.

When is the course offered?

The next Georgia Master Naturalist course will be offered in fall of 2021, Tuesdays from 10:00-4:00, September 14 - November 9. The class will meet at the Fort Yargo State park conference room, the Barrow County Extension office, and several field-trip sites in the area

What topics will be taught?

Barrow County topics: Basic Ecology, Native Plants and Pollinators, Water Conservation; Trees of Georgia; mammals of Georgia; Herpetology; Fish and Fisheries; Birds of Georgia; Edible Plants; Forest Management; Invasive Plants, and more!

How do I Register?

Register in-person at the Barrow County Extension office (90 Lanthier Street, Winder). The course has a $150 registration fee, payable by cash or check. Click the link below for the registration form.
