Wildlife Judging

Wildlife Judging participants will learn a variety of wildlife terms and concepts including quality and management of wildlife habitats, potential dangers and damage to habitats, and common wildlife foods. Contestants will be able to interpret wildlife habitat from aerial photographs and learn to communicate reasons from observations. Participants will develop abilities and attributes for better citizens and leaders of tomorrow.

 

Practices will be on the following Thursdays from 4:30 pm-6:00 pm in room 210. 

August 16th- 4:30 pm-6:00 pm

August 23rd- 4:30 pm-6:00 pm

August 30th- 4:30 pm-6:00 pm

September 6th- 4:30 pm-6:00 pm

September 13th- 4:30 pm-6:00 pm

September 20th- 4:30 pm-6:00 pm

October 4th- 4:30 pm-6:00 pm

October 11th- 4:30 pm-6:00 pm

October 18th- 4:30 pm-6:00 pm

October 20th: State Wildlife Contest 


Here’s how the contest works:

  • Activity 1 – On-site recommendation of wildlife management practices.
  • Activity 2 – Written wildlife management plan.
  • Activity 3 – General wildlife knowledge.
  • Activity 4 – Wildlife identification.
  • Activity 5 – Aerial Photographs

Participants will
