Meet the Staff!

Ms. Lauren, Elbert County 4-H Agent, has a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business & Animal Science and a Master of Agricultural Leadership. She is currently working on her doctorate in Agricultural Leadership, Education & Communication at the University of Georgia, also her alma mater. She joined Elbert County Extension in 2006 and loves watching the growth of students from Cloverleaf-Senior levels, developing their passions and becoming masters in an area. Project Achievement, agriculture/animals undertakings and outdoor recreation are her favorite 4-H activities. She lives on a farm in Elbert County with horses, cows, chickens, pigs, dogs, a donkey and a cat.

Ms. Sophie,
Elbert County 4-H Program Assistant, has a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing and a Master of Arts in Teaching Early Childhood Education from Emory University. She is currently working on her doctorate in Leadership and Learning in Organizations at Vanderbilt University. She joined the Elbert County Extension in 2014 as a volunteer and takes great pleasure in providing opportunities for kindergarten through 12th grade 4-H students to showcase their talents and learn by doing. She lives on a small farm in Elberton with her husband and has four daughters and two grandchildren (all former/current/future 4-H'ers). She loves all aspects of the 4-H mission, and she particularly enjoys the creative arts.

If you are a parent or 4-H volunteer planning to visit Lauren Dye 4-H Agent or Sophie Walsky Program Assistant, please bring a Driver’s License or picture ID. You will need to show your driver’s license and check in with school personnel before entering.
