4-H Youth Development
The Elberton 12 County Fair will run from Thursday, October 12th until Saturday, October 21st this year. There are many ways 4-H’ers can participate!
October 16th: Rabbit Show
Upcoming 4-H Events and Deadlines
October 17th: Dog Show
October 18th: Performing Arts Kids on Stage
October 19th: 4-H Day at the Fair (discounted ride wristband!)
ALL WEEK: Visit the 4-H Booth in the Exhibit Hall to earn Clover Points (5 points per day – 10 points on 4-H Day), buy 4-H merchandise, view 4-H mini-booths and artwork, and vote on entries of the Scarecrow Contest. Also, visit the 4-H Barn, see the animals, and take a horseback ride during the fair!
PLUS… 4-H’ers can enter: homegrown fruits, vegetables, plants, and flowers! Canned products or jams and jellies! Cakes, cookies, and breads! Drawings, paintings, crafts, and photographs! Clothes, crocheting, or quilts that you have made! Rabbits, hogs, goats, and sheep may also be entered into the fair. Call the 4-H Office at 706-283-2037 for more information on what you can enter.
MINI-BOOTH: 4-H’ers also have a unique opportunity to enter a mini-booth into the fair. What is a mini-booth? A mini-booth is created on a three-sided display board. The content of the mini-booth is up to you; however, it should be educational. Booths are judged on educational value, attractive arrangement, originality, and quality. Use your Project Fair entry for this and get double credit for one project!
Entries to the fair must be submitted at the Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 7th through Wednesday, October 11th from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
