4-H Youth Development
Dodge County 4-H is an educational program teaching leadership, citizenship and practical life skills. The goal is to make learning FUN! It is the youth phase of the UGA Extension program. Your local branch is located at 230 Foster Street, Suite A, Eastman, Georgia.
Over 800 young people in Dodge County participate in 4-H activities. 4-H Clubs are a part of the Dodge County School System. There are also 4-H activities outside of school. 4-H is open to all youth ages 9 - 19.
Cloverleaf 4-H Clubs are made up of 4th, 5th and 6th graders. Your 4-H Agent and Program Assistant meet with them during the school day.
Junior 4-H Clubs are made up of 7th and 8th graders. Your 4-H Agent and Program Assistant meet with them during the school day.
Senior 4-Hers meet once a month after school. Check with the Extension Service for the meeting times, dates, and locations. All students in 9th through 12th grades are invited to attend.

Also...NOT included this year is the Hunter Safety Certification. Rising 7th through 12th graders who maybe be interested in competing on the 4-H Shotgun Team MUST have their Hunter Safety Certification! Though the process has changed a little, we DO have CD's available for checkout at the 4-H Office OR you could do the online class. You may also call us for more information on this!

How to Join 4-H
Any youth ages 9 - 19 are eligible to join 4-H. All students in the 4th through 8th grades will join 4-H at the beginning of each school year. Youth in 9th - 12th grades will need to contact the 4-H office to enroll and be included on the Senior Club mailing list. Any other eligible youth may contact the Dodge County 4-H Office to receive enrollment information. There is no charge for 4-H membership.

Dec 8 Morgan County Extension Commercial Dairy Heifer Clinic Morgan County Extension will conduct the first of two clinics for commercial dairy heifer program exhibitors to educate them about dairy heifer nutrition, health, and showmanship. Any Georgia 4-H or FFA member showing a commercial dairy heifer is welcome to attend with their animal(s). The first clinic, Saturday, December 8, 2018, will cover basic halter breaking/showmanship, administer vaccines, deworm, weigh and dehorn (if needed) and body condition score heifers. Please note that heifers DO NOT have to be WELL halter broken to attend—-this is a learning experience! Mark your calendars for the second clinic on more advanced skills to be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019. At this clinic participants will progress to more advance showmanship, trim feet and body condition score heifers again. Please RSVP no later than Monday, December 3, 2018 for the first clinic and Monday, December 17, 2018 for the second clinic in order to assure that we have adequate amounts of supplies Madison, GA - (98.0 Miles)
