4-H Youth Development
Dodge County 4-H is an educational program teaching leadership, citizenship and practical life skills. The goal is to make learning FUN! It is the youth phase of the UGA Extension program. Your local branch is located at 230 Foster Street, Suite A, Eastman, Georgia.
Over 800 young people in Dodge County participate in 4-H activities. 4-H Clubs are a part of the Dodge County School System. There are also 4-H activities outside of school. 4-H is open to all youth ages 9 - 19.
Cloverleaf 4-H Clubs are made up of 4th, 5th and 6th graders. Your 4-H Agent and Program Assistant meet with them during the school day.
Junior 4-H Clubs are made up of 7th and 8th graders. Your 4-H Agent and Program Assistant meet with them during the school day.
Senior 4-Hers meet once a month after school. Check with the Extension Service for the meeting times, dates, and locations. All students in 9th through 12th grades are invited to attend.

Also...NOT included this year is the Hunter Safety Certification. Rising 7th through 12th graders who maybe be interested in competing on the 4-H Shotgun Team MUST have their Hunter Safety Certification! Though the process has changed a little, we DO have CD's available for checkout at the 4-H Office OR you could do the online class. You may also call us for more information on this!

How to Join 4-H
Any youth ages 9 - 19 are eligible to join 4-H. All students in the 4th through 8th grades will join 4-H at the beginning of each school year. Youth in 9th - 12th grades will need to contact the 4-H office to enroll and be included on the Senior Club mailing list. Any other eligible youth may contact the Dodge County 4-H Office to receive enrollment information. There is no charge for 4-H membership.

Mar 24 - Mar 25 SW District Project Achievement for 4th-6th Graders 4-H Members in 4th-6th grades will compete for honors in their project area of interest. Youth sign up at their County Extension 4-H Office in early fall to develop his/her project and prepare for the competition. There are over 50 projects to choose from. Youth learn powerful research, writing and oral presentation skills.
