University of Georgia Master Gardener extension volunteers complete an intensive eleven week training led by University specialists, County Extension Agents, and local professionals. Upon completion of the class, interns are required to complete 50 hours of volunteer work the first year and 25 hours each subsequent year. Volunteer activities include such things as: speaking engagements, assisting in youth gardening programs, "Ask a Master Gardener" clinics, and community gardens. The course is offered every year.
