Agriculture and Natural Resources

The Monroe County Extension office is your gateway to the resources of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. We offer educational resources and programs that help clients be more successful in their agricultural pursuits.

We provide testing services for:

  • Soil
  • Well Water
  • Feed & Forage
  • Poultry Litter
  • Pond Water

Family and Consumer Sciences

UGA FACS provides programming and educational resources on:

  • Chronic Disease Prevention/Healthy Lifestyles
  • Economic Well-being for Individuals and Families
  • Food Safety and Preservation
  • Healthy, Safe and Affordable Housing Environments
  • Positive Development for Individuals, Families and Communities

Monroe County's FACS Agent's focus is on Chronic Disease Prevention/Healthy Lifestyles and Food Safety and Preservation.

4-H and Youth Development

Monroe County 4-H provides programs for students grades 5-12 including:

Job Opening

19-Hour Program Assistant

Monroe County Extension has a 19-hour Program Assistant position open! This position will assist in facilitating in the Monroe County 4-H Program by assisting 4-H’ers in preparation for 4-H competitive events including project achievement, judging teams, etc. Transport or arrange for transportation of 4-H’ers to various district and state level events and if assigned, provide leadership for youth while attending these events. Incorporate the results of program evaluations and feedback in planning future programs and techniques used in implementing programs. Strong organizational and other soft-skills, working knowledge of office practices and procedures. Ability to use independent judgment and discretion with confidential information. Works with limited supervision.

Advertised salary: $11.779 @ 19 hours per week.
