Herpetology - Herpe What! Snakes Native to Our Area

April 6, 2017 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Do you know the difference between a venomous and non-venomous snake? This Herpetology class is designed to get us all on the same page regarding the differences and similarities. There will be various non-venomous, non-poisonous snakes native to Georgia at the class. Join Jessica Simoneaux, Fortson 4-H Center Program Specialist, who is very familiar and comfortable with these snakes. Don't worry, they will not be crawling around under your seats. The difference between venomous and non-venomous snakes will be the focal talking point, as well as being able to identify them and peacefully coexist with them. We will also talk about their habitats, food sources, and how snakes have a positive impact on our environment! Please RSVP by calling our office at 770.305.5412 X 7. Free class.
