Master Gardener Extension Volunteer Training in Muscogee County

Jan 31 - Mar 16, 2017 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Georgia Master Gardener Extension Volunteer Program prepares volunteers to support UGA Extension in delivering garden information to Georgia's citizens and communities. Participants receive intense horticultural training from experts, and then carry that knowledge into the community.

The class fee is $180 and applicants must pass a mandatory background screen, which is due at orientation on January 31, 2017. The class fee covers the textbook, badge, certificate, Master Gardener shirt, and a field trip to Auburn University. Upon acceptance into the program, you will be required to complete a 14 session week training program on a range of horticultural topics. Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00pm to 5:00pm beginning January 31 through March 16 at the UGA Extension Office in Columbus unless otherwise specified. You must volunteer at least 50 service hours to the Muscogee County Extension program in the first year after course completion and 25 hours a year afterwards to remain certified.
